Novari Health eRequest™, an eReferral, central intake and workflow management module has gone live at London Health Science Centre and other participating hospitals in the south west region of the province.

Implementations of the same Novari Health technology have proven to be impactful in the central west, central, Mississauga Halton, north west, and now the south west region of the province. This region is the sixth to successfully implement the Novari Health Access to Care software platform, and specifically the Novari eRequest module. Across these regions, the technology has been implemented for a mix of central intake and workflow management of hip, knee, shoulder, foot, ankle, spine, low back, rehabilitation/complex care, diabetes, and mental health referrals.

Participating hospitals in the south west region include St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, Grey Bruce Health Services, Huron Perth Health Alliance, Woodstock General Hospital, and Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital.

As a long-standing leader in this area, Novari Health was selected as the enabling technology vendor to support Ontario’s Intake and Coordinated Access Model for MSK referrals in the south west of the province, serving a population of nearly one million.

The successful implementation at London Health Science Centre and the other participating hospitals is allowing MSK and low back pain referrals across the south west region to be processed electronically at the central intake office in London, and then electronically routed, using the Novari platform, to 1 of 6 MSK assessment centres across the region. At the assessment centres, MSK patients are clinically evaluated for surgery, and then are electronically referred using Novari Health technology to individual orthopedic surgeons for a surgical consult. The seamless ability for healthcare providers to electronically manage the referral process, transitions of care through central intake, wait list management, and eBooking is unique to Novari Health technology and provides surgeons, hospitals, and patients with an integrated end-to-end solution to manage an effective continuum of care.

For security, scalability, and the ease of implementation, the cloud based Novari Access to Care Platform is provided as a software as a service, hosted on Microsoft’s Canadian Azure cloud infrastructure.
